Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Fiscal H1 Earnings Rise, Ordinary Income Falls; Fiscal 2026 EPS Outlook Raised

Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group (SMFG) reported fiscal H1 earnings Friday of 241.98 Japanese yen ($1.57) per diluted share, up from 184.72 yen a year earlier.

Ordinary income for the half ended Sept. 30 was 5.206 trillion yen, down from 5.277 trillion yen a year earlier.

The company said it now expects fiscal 2026 EPS of 390.39 yen, up from its prior outlook of 338 yen.

Analysts' estimates weren't available for comparison.
