Value-Focused Warehouse Clubs Appear Well Positioned for Holiday Shopping Season -- Market Talk
Dow Jones11-19
1327 ET - Warehouse clubs Costco, Sam's Club and BJ's Wholesale have sustained their year-over-year foot traffic momentum, with visits rising 6%, 3.2% and 5.9%, respectively in 3Q, Placer.ai data shows. "Their consistent performance reinforces the appeal of the wholesale model among value-driven shoppers navigating inflationary pressures and tighter budgets," the location-analytics company says in a report. These value-forward warehouse clubs appear well positioned for the crucial holiday retail season, Placer.ai notes, despite shoppers feeling increasingly stressed out about the economy.
