WeShop (WSHP) said Thursday it has launched its social commerce app in the US, expanding the platform that lets users earn an ownership stake in the company through their shopping.
The app offers access to over a billion products and lets users recommend items to friends while earning rewards for purchases and referrals, the company said.
Through its ShareBack program, users collect WePoints on shopping and referrals that can be converted into equity in WeShop, it said.
The US rollout follows a UK pilot, where it generated more than $140 million in sales, WeShop said.
Shares of the company were down 35% in recent Thursday premarket activity.
