Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles' Consolidated Profit Soars in Fiscal Q2

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles' (NSE:TMPV, BOM:500570) consolidated attributable profit surged to 761.70 billion Indian rupees in the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 from 34.5 billion rupees a year ago, due to an exceptional gain on disposal of discontinued operations.

Loss per share came in at 17.50 rupees from earnings per share of 10.01 rupees a year earlier, the car manufacturer said in a filing to the Indian stock exchanges on Friday.

Revenue from operations in fiscal Q2 declined to 723.5 billion rupees from 836.6 billion rupees a year ago.
