AGL Energy (ASX:AGL) said it "strongly" supports the development of the National Bioenergy Feedstock Strategy to reduce emissions and waste, and the strategy could be expanded to cover a wider range of feedstocks, in its feedback provided to the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, according to a Thursday statement by the company.
The company calls on using waste materials as feedstock rather than creating new biogenic sources, as well as developing projects that use existing land and infrastructure and require fewer resources.
Shares of the company fell past 1% in recent Thursday trade.
