Elbit Systems Gets $210 Million Tank Upgrade Contracts From Israel; Shares Up Pre-Bell

Elbit Systems (ESLT) said Wednesday it has received about $210 million of contracts from the Israel Ministry of Defense to upgrade the Merkava main battle tanks.

The contracts will be performed over a six-year period.

The company said it will conduct an extensive renewal of the electronic assemblies of the tanks, as well as upgrade and enhance multiple onboard systems.

Elbit shares were up 3.8% in recent premarket activity.
