1420 ET - Williams-Sonoma's weakness Wednesday, after 3Q results, was an overreaction, Baird analysts say in a note. Quarterly results for the specialty retailer of home furnishings and housewares were strong, with better-than-expected comparable sales and earnings per share, the analysts say. They believe a nervous market, particularly for consumer stocks, took the stock down on concerns over its ability to manage tariffs. "While a near-term headwind to margins, it's nothing worse than we expected," they say. The downward move presents a buying opportunity, they add, reiterating an outperform rating on the stock. Williams-Sonoma is up 1%. (kelly.cloonan@wsj.com)
