Dell Doesn't Look Squeezed By Memory Costs -- Market Talk

Dow Jones2025-11-27

1417 ET - Dell Technologies investors have been concerned about memory costs, but 3Q margins positively surprised, Raymond James says. Dell secures suppliers several quarters ahead, so the spot price for memory could be misleading, the analysts say. The company also holds an undisclosed amount of money in inventory, creating timing uncertainty, they add. Although they haven't seen any notable pricing changes yet, the analysts say they expect Dell will do less discounting and could raise product prices. "Dell's solid execution and supply chain management enabled it to deliver upside to margin, countering bearish sentiment regarding the pressure from increasing memory chip costs," the analysts say. Dell climbs 6%. (katherine.hamilton@wsj.com)
