Hong Kong's Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) charged former Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (HKG:0388) Listing Division assistant vice president Tam Cheuk-yin for allegedly taking HK$150,000 in bribes to leak confidential, price-sensitive information, according to a Monday statement.
Tam faces two counts of public servant accepting an advantage.
Separately, Alan Chau Tsz-kong and Tang Hing-yu were charged with perverting the course of justice in a joint ICAC-SFC investigation into insider dealing.
All three were released on ICAC bail and are due to appear at Eastern Magistrates' Courts on Tuesday, where prosecutors will seek to transfer the case to the District Court.
Investigators allege Tam accessed HKEX email systems and passed restricted listing data to Chau in 2024.
Chau and Tang are accused of hiding HK$3.9 million in cash, luxury watches, and a mobile phone, and tampering with car-camera footage to obstruct the probe.
