Best Buys. Hi everyone. The end of year shopping season is upon us.
With Black Friday in mind, the Barron's Tech team compiled a list of our favorite technology products that are well worth the cost and come with our highest recommendation. At least one person on our team owns each of these items and they make great gifts for friends or even for yourself.
Enjoy the list and happy holidays to all.
Nintendo Switch 2 Console ($450)
The Nintendo Switch 2 has been a huge blockbuster with the Japan-based videogame publisher raising its sales forecast earlier this month. The console has become the fastest-selling Nintendo console ever at launch.
For good reason. Multiple Barron's Tech team members have purchased the Switch 2, enjoying Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza. The new console and both games will bring a smile to everyone in your family, regardless of age.
Bose TV Speaker ($200)
Nearly all televisions have small, tinny speakers that make it difficult to hear dialogue, especially for some of us older folk. I recently bought the latest Bose TV Speaker soundbar, and it works extremely well.
I can listen at lower volumes and still hear everything using the speaker's enhanced dialogue mode. The system can connect to three devices through HDMI, Optical, and auxiliary inputs, and it also supports wireless bluetooth. It doesn't break the bank either compared with other higher-end sound offerings.
Superone 2025 Dual-Side Magnetic Ring Holder ($18)
A perfect stocking stuffer. Barron's Tech team editor Alex Eule swears by this ring that attaches to iPhones via their magnetic MagSafe feature. The metal ring adds minimal weight when attached and allows the phone to stand in portrait or landscape modes -- perfect for reading, watching videos, and propping up the phone as a bedside alarm clock. The best part is that the magnet works through most existing cases and easily slides off if you want to leave it at home.
Roblox Gift Cards ($10 to $100)
Give the kids what they want.
