1221 ET - NetApp is making progress in its artificial intelligence business, closing about 200 AI infrastructure and data lake modernization deals in its latest quarter, up from about 100 a year ago, Raymond James analysts say in a note. The company's AI deal mix is stable, with 45% in data prep and data lakes, about 25% to 30% in training and fine tuning, and the rest in retrieval-augmented generation and inference, they say. NetApp's momentum has been supported by new AI offerings delivered both as systems and via storage as a service, which should given its expanded AI-capable services across Amazon Web Services, Azure, and Google Cloud, they say. "NetApp continues to report progress with AI projects, and we see this as a longer-term growth driver," they say. (kelly.cloonan@wsj.com)
