NetApp's Strong F2Q Bodes Well for Pure Storage -- Market Talk

Dow Jones11-27

1336 ET - NetApp's strong F2Q results are a positive signal for key competitor Pure Storage, Oppenheimer's Param Singh says in a note. NetApp's quarterly revenue was comfortably ahead of expectations, helped by particular strength in its all-flash-array portfolio, which grew 8% and showed an acceleration in year-over-year growth from last quarter, the analyst says. NetApp also said it saw a pickup in AI-related wins, signaling strong demand for all-flash-array storage, he says. "We view this as highly positive for Pure Storage," Singh says, noting he sees the company as similarly positioned to beat estimates when it reports earnings slated for next week.
