GE HealthCare Technologies (GEHC) and Mayo Clinic said Wednesday they have launched a research collaboration, the GE HealthCare-Mayo Clinic Initiative in Radiation Therapy, aimed at transforming cancer care through personalized radiation treatment.
Building on a 2023 research partnership, GEMINI-RT will combine Mayo Clinic's clinical and research expertise with GE HealthCare's engineering and imaging capabilities to better integrate imaging, advanced therapies, dosimetry, and patient monitoring across the cancer treatment pathway.
The initiative will focus on AI-driven automation to streamline treatment planning, tools to support predictive oncology, combinations of radiation with emerging therapies, and connected-care technologies to monitor patients and detect side effects earlier.
Research activities will be based at Mayo Clinic's Rochester, Minnesota, campus, according to a joint statement.
Shares of GE Healthcare were up 4% in recent trading.
