Shoppers Bought Christmas Toys on Black Friday -- Market Talk

Dow Jones12-04

1258 ET - Mattel CEO Ynon Kreiz says the toy company had a good Black Friday. After sales fell in 3Q as retailers delayed orders, the company says both orders to retailers and sales to consumers picked up at the start of 4Q. And that momentum has continued, with Kreiz noting positive sales trends though the all-important holiday season. "We expect to have a good holiday season and we feel very good about how we are positioned in the marketplace, with strong product offering and a lot of innovation in our portfolio," he says at Morgan Stanley's Global Consumer and Retail conference. Mattel rises 3.5%. (connor.hart@wsj.com)
