Concord New Energy Units Launch 1.8 Billion Yuan Fund With Insurance Investors; Shares Slip 2%

Concord New Energy (HKG:0182) said two wholly owned subsidiaries have agreed to establish an investment partnership with Jiangsu CMB, Taikang Life Insurance, and Taikang Pension Insurance, according to a Wednesday Hong Kong bourse filing.

Shares of the power company were down nearly 2% in Thursday morning trade.

The partnership will launch a private equity fund with total capital commitments of 1.81 billion yuan, including 550 million yuan from Concord.

The fund will invest in equity and shareholder loans for new energy projects across Mainland China and will run for an expected seven-year term.

Jiangsu CMB will serve as general partner and fund manager.

Concord AMC will act as a general partner, while Yongzhou Jiepai will join as a limited partner together with the two Taikang insurance entities.
