Murata Manufacturing Co (TYO:6981) said AI is accelerating electronics demand in mid- and long-term cycles, boosting clarity toward 2030, according to a Monday filing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

Capacitors per AI server baseboard have risen to 15,000-25,000, supporting a 30% average annual increase in AI accelerator builds through FY30. Murata is scaling high-capacitance MLCCs for power stability.

Its XBAR line entered mass production and shipments in Q1 FY25, targeting over 3GHz bands where RF demand is set to grow 17% annually through 2028. ADAS automotive parts are rising 2.8 times by FY27.

Battery modules for AI racks are shifting to high-safety LFP backup (BBU), with iPaS embedding to handle large currents.

Murata is pushing internal decarbonization FY25, using ceramic catalysts and PET recycling (goal 60 million bottles/year), and sees Scope 1+2 neutrality by FY40, Scope 3 by FY50. It plans more than 10% annual MLCC capacity expansion and new R&D hubs in Moriyama.
