LVMH named Pietro Beccari as chair and chief executive of its fashion-brands group, adding to his duties as boss of flagship house Louis Vuitton.
The French luxury-goods conglomerate said Tuesday that Beccari will replace Sidney Toledano, who will step down after more than three decades at LVMH.
"I would like to warmly thank Sidney Toledano, who has been by my side for over 30 years and has always been present, in all circumstances, with determination, talent, and loyalty. He will remain my special advisor," LVMH's chair and CEO Bernard Arnault said.
Beccari will combine his new responsibilities with those of chair and CEO of Louis Vuitton, the group's namesake brand and one of its main sales generators.
LVMH's fashion group is separate from Louis Vuitton and Dior, and includes smaller brands like Celine, Givenchy and Marc Jacobs.
The statement comes months after rival Kering appointed Luca de Meo as its CEO, continuing with yearslong efforts to revive the fortunes of its core label Gucci. The French group also named Francesca Bellettini as CEO of Gucci.
Beccari's expanded role comes amid signs of green shoots for LVMH, and the wider luxury-goods sector, after two years of limp demand and weak sales amid a frosty macroeconomic landscape. LVMH--seen as a sector bellwether--reported an improvement in sales growth for the third quarter in October, pointing to a potential turning point.
Last week, analysts at UBS argued that the sector could start to recover next year after a prolonged slowdown in demand that has hurt most players in the industry. "We are entering 2026 hopeful that the worst is over," the analysts wrote in a note.
Renewed creativity is one of the key factors that could boost the rebound in 2026. A number of high-end labels have recently shaken up their creative directions in a bid to get consumers back to boutiques. LVMH has shifted the creative directions of some brands including Fendi, Celine, Givenchy, Loewe and Dior.
The company also said that Damien Bertrand, current deputy CEO of Louis Vuitton, will become a member of the LVMH executive committee.
The appointments are effective from Jan. 1, after a transition period between Toledano and Beccari, it said.
