TotalEnergies (TTE) and TES have signed a joint development and operating agreement with Japan's Osaka Gas, Toho Gas, and Itochu for the Live Oak electric natural gas project in Nebraska, giving the Japanese partners a combined 33.3% interest in the project, the companies said Tuesday.
TotalEnergies and TES will each hold a 33.35% stake.
The partners are targeting about 250 megawatts of electrolysis capacity and 75,000 tonnes per year of methanation.
A final decision for the project is planned for 2027, with commercial operations intended for 2030 to supply gas to Japan. Osaka Gas and Toho Gas will be the main offtakers, the companies said.
