SK Hynix Set to Post 4Q Earnings Beat on Higher Chip Prices -- Market Talk

Dow Jones12-08

0607 GMT - SK Hynix is set to post a 4Q earnings beat on higher semiconductor prices, LS Securities analyst Yongho Cha writes in a note. Cha expects the South Korean memory-chip maker's operating profit to double on year to KRW16.1 trillion for the October-December period, likely beating the market consensus estimate of KRW14.4 trillion. Average selling prices for DRAM and NAND chips are projected to rise 23% and 9% on quarter, respectively, in 4Q, he reckons. Demand for DRAM products, including the premium high bandwidth memory products, is likely to remain strong through 2026, with the company's annual operating profit forecast to jump 41% to KRW33 trillion next year, he adds.
