Humana (HUM) is working with entrepreneur Mark Cuban on a potential pharmacy partnership through Cuban's Cost Plus Drugs venture, Bloomberg reported Thursday, citing comments made by Humana's chief executive officer Jim Rechtin at a Forbes healthcare conference.
Cuban said the discussions include direct-to-employer programs aimed at bypassing traditional drug-supply-chain layers, the report said. Rechtin said the goal is to simplify how medications move from manufacturers to patients, the report said.
Humana and Cost Plus Drugs did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment on the matter.
Shares of Humana were down 2.14% in recent Thursday trading.
