** Brokerage says co's strong operational execution, tighter capital discipline, and a shift toward higher-margin trucks and SUVs position it for long-term growth

** GM has "industry-leading U.S. inventory and incentive discipline," and reduced policy uncertainty could support its core business, says Morgan Stanley

** Brokerage, however, lifts Ford F.N PT to $14 from $11

** 18 of 30 brokerages rate the stock "buy" or higher, 10 "hold" and 2 "sell" ; their median PT is $74- data compiled by LSEG

** YTD, shares up 42.8%
