1416 ET - Inflation-weary shoppers remain willing to spend, especially on a good deal. Both Dollar Tree and Dollar General raised their full-year outlooks this week and said that their customers are continuing to spend on everyday items such as food and household supplies, as well as seasonal products, home decor and apparel. And both are scooping up market share from rivals, noting that a disproportionate number of their new customers are from higher-income households. The momentum is continuing so far into the holiday season, with Dollar Tree guiding for higher-than-expected profit and sales in the current quarter, and Dollar General noting its 4Q sales are off to a strong start. Dollar Tree rises 8.5%, while Dollar General is up 6.8%. (connor.hart@wsj.com)
