VCI Global Limited plans to spin-off its capital markets advisory subsidiary, V Capital Consulting Group, at a valuation of $168 million.
The Malaysia-based consulting company said Thursday the transaction is the first part of the new dual-track initial public offering strategy designed to unlock subsidiary value and improve capital efficiency.
VCI Global will retain 30% equity interest in VCCG, supporting the company's transition to a more focused, technology-driven business.
The company said the spin-off gives VCI Global the ability to focus on high-growth technology like AI and cybersecurity with more financial flexibility, while allowing VCCG to raise its own capital.
In after-hours trading, shares are down more than 8% at $1.07, and they have fallen twofold year-to-date.
