0413 GMT - Jardine Matheson chief executive Lincoln Pan could accelerate its restructuring after taking the helm on Monday, say Macquarie Capital analysts in a note. The Singapore-listed conglomerate's asset disposals year-to-date reached US$2.8 billion, with the group redeploying cash for buybacks at subsidiaries and special dividends, they say. The analysts remain bullish on the restructuring efforts, which have helped reduce its net debt to US$25 million as of September, from US$1.1 billion as of June. The dividends it receives from its subsidiaries have more than covered its own distributions, they say. Jardine Matheson is focusing on restructuring Astra International and reviewing its unlisted unit Jardine Pacific's portfolio, the analysts note. They expect these reviews to conclude in 1H.
