Singapore's Benchmark Index May Offer Limited Upside Next Year -- Market Talk
Dow Jones12-05 11:41
0340 GMT - Singapore's benchmark FTSE Straits Times Index could see limited upside next year, Macquarie Capital analysts say in a note. They expect the city-state's banks to be the main constituents weighing on the index, after three years of strong share-price performances. Lower interest rates are likely to pressure the lenders' revenue, they say. The banks make up around 50% of the index's weight. Macquarie Capital has a 2026 year-end target of 4500 on the STI, which is down 0.5% at 4513.91. (megan.cheah@wsj.com)
