Costco Remains Resilient, But Stock Likely Stagnant Until Spring -- Market Talk
Dow Jones12-12
0749 ET - Costco's business model is as resilient as ever, William Blair analysts say in a research note, but "we expect shares to remain range-bound through the second fiscal quarter, as comparisons remain difficult and the company continues to absorb elevated compensation costs," Phillip Blee and Olivia Witte write. They note the stock will likely have a clearer path to acceleration in the spring, when Costco laps the final wage-related headwinds and faces easier comps. That should help position the stock for upside later in the year even as near-term catalysts remain limited. (connor.hart@wsj.com)
