Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA) said Tuesday it has received in-principle approval from Abu Dhabi Global Market's regulator for a category 4 license to expand its corporate and investment banking services in the Middle East.
The approval from the Financial Services Regulatory Authority will allow the bank to move from a representative office to a licensed branch for corporate and investment banking services.
Eduardo Ortiz Gross, head of corporate and investment banking in the Middle East, will be the senior executive officer for the Abu Dhabi branch, BBVA said.
