CGI has won a contract with the Texas Department of Information Resources to provide ready-made software and support services to state and local governments.

The Canadian technology and professional-services firm said Thursday that under the contract, CGI will provide software to support finance management, human resources, budgeting and procurement, and to improve case management for health-and-human-services agencies.

CGI said it will also deliver support services such as setup, project management, analysis and technical assistance.

The contract is effective immediately, the Montreal-based company said. CGI noted the contract will serve entities including Texas state agencies, local governments, public-education institutions and other public entities within Texas, among others.
