ON Semiconductor (ON) said Thursday it extended its collaboration with Forvia Hella through a new long-term agreement for the use of its PowerTrench T10 MOSFET technology for automotive applications.

The PowerTrench T10 devices are designed to cut conduction and switching losses so systems can deliver higher power density in small footprints while maintaining reliability, the company said.

Their shielded gate trench design aims to lower output capacitance along with drain to source resistance and gate charge, which is intended to support more efficient and lower-cost power electronics for a wide range of vehicle applications, ON Semiconductor said.

The T10 power MOSFETs are produced at ON Semiconductor's manufacturing facility in East Fishkill, New York, the company added.

Shares of the company were down by more than 1.4% in recent Thursday premarket activity.
