One person was killed and another was injured in a shooting at Kentucky State University, local officials said.
The Frankfort Police Department said Tuesday that officers responded to an incident with an "active aggressor" on Tuesday afternoon. A suspect is in custody, and the campus remains on lockdown, the department said.
Michael DeCourcy, a university spokesman, said the shooting occurred outside a residence hall on campus. Both the victims were students, DeCourcy said.
Preliminary information indicates that the shooter was a parent of a student at the school, DeCourcy added.
