Capital One CEO: Americans Resilient Despite Uncertainty -- Market Talk

1537 ET - The U.S. consumer remains resilient, but uncertainty abounds, Capital One Financial Rich Fairbank says at Goldman Sachs' financial services conference. New job growth is low and starting to decline, while inflation continues to put upward pressure on prices, Fairbank says. There is also still a lot of uncertainty about the economy. "We are struck by the sort of strength of the consumer, but the narrative is certainly surrounded by uncertainty in the economy." (katherine.hamilton@wsj.com)
