Dow Jones12-09 19:54
1153 GMT - Shares in Alphabet slip 0.3% premarket after the European Union opened an antitrust investigation into the company. The European Commission is looking into the content Google uses to train its AI tools, with the block's watchdog examining whether Google is distorting competition by imposing unfair terms and conditions on publishers, or by giving itself privileged access to their content. Alphabet could be fined up to 10% of its annual worldwide turnover if the European Commission decides they are breaching EU antitrust law. Alphabet futures fall $1.05 to $313.40.
