Apple's (AAPL) senior vice president of hardware technologies, Johny Srouji, clarified he will remain at the company amid speculations of an exit, Bloomberg reported Monday, citing an internal memo.

Bloomberg reported earlier, citing people familiar with the matter, that Srouji told CEO Tim Cook he was planning to depart the company in the near term.

Cook had been working to retain Srouji, offering him a substantial pay package and the potential of more responsibility moving forward, the people told the media outlet.

Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
