GenusPlus Group Secures AusNet Contract for Victoria Project; Shares Up 4%

GenusPlus Group (ASX:GNP) secured a contract with AusNet to construct the Western Renewables Link project in Victoria valued at around AU$1.6 billion, according to a Friday filing with the Australian bourse.

The contract, which is subject to conditions, has been awarded to the company as part of its joint venture with Spanish company Acciona, the filing said.

The project will deliver a new 500 kilovolt double-circuit transmission line between Bulgana and Sydenham, allowing for more than 3,000 megawatts of power generation, per the filing.

GenusPlus Group shares rose 4% in afternoon trade on Friday.
