Hong Kong's total exports should rise by 13% this year as demand for AI‑enabled electronic devices boosted shipments during 2025, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council said in a report released Thursday.

During the first ten months of the year, the city recorded 13.8% growth in exports year-on-year, ahead of the HKTDC's forecast of 7% to 9% for the entirety of 2025.

The statutory body said exports of toys and games rebounded during the year, rising 33.2% following their 2024 plunge of nearly 22%.

The Chinese mainland was the top destination for exports, with shipments rising nearly 16% year on year to HK$2.54 billion for the first ten months of 2025, figures showed.

For next year, the HKTDC estimates exports could grow by 8% to 9% due to continued demand for AI‑related electronics products.
