Dow Jones12-11

Three Texas refineries reported recent operational issues, according to regulatory filings with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

Valero reported a compressor upset at a delayed coking unit at its 424,000 b/d Port Arthur refinery on Tuesday, resulting in an emission event and flaring that lasted for about six hours, the company said in a filing.

Also, Pemex said the larger of its two crude distillation units called DU2 at its 340,000 b/d Deer Park refinery had an upset on Monday, sending excess materials to other processing units and resulting in flaring that lasted for about two hours, a TCEQ filing said.

In addition, Delek said in a Monday filing that the carbon monoxide boiler No. 9 at its 77,500 b/d Tyler refinery in East Texas reported an excess opacity event due to maintenance on Saturday. Excess opacity refers to the emission of pollutants exceeding limitations imposed by regulators.
