EchoStar Seen as Benefiting from Wireless Competition -- Market Talk

Dow Jones12-11

1149 ET - EchoStar can withstand or even benefit from rising competition among U.S. wireless carriers, Morgan Stanley analysts led by Benjamin Swinburne say, upgrading the stock to overweight from equal-weight. EchoStar's AWS-3 spectrum licenses are appreciating assets, the analysts say. The analysts expect both Verizon and T-Mobile will be interested in EchoStar's AWS-3 spectrum licenses for their networks. While shares have quadrupled year-to-date, the analysts note that EchoStar's current market cap is still below its all-time high in 2014, giving them confidence shares could move higher. They raise their price target to $110 from $82. (katherine.hamilton@wsj.com)
