1232 ET - Home Depot has bought up building products suppliers as part of a broader consolidation push in the industry, but the company could also see a long-term boost from consolidation among its customers, say Truist analysts. Home Depot's customers are being bought particularly by private equity, which could prove the company "a significant upside lever over time," the analysts say. A private equity firm that buys three major roofing contractors for example "may look to consolidate their sourcing, which would leave Home Depot in a great spot to compete because of their cost structure, product breadth/depth, and distribution capabilities," the analysts say.
