Contact Energy's Retail Mass Market Electricity Sales Down in November

Contact Energy (ASX:CEN, NZE:CEN) said retail mass market electricity sales fell year over year in November, while gas sales grew during the month, according to a Tuesday filing with the Australian and New Zealand bourses.

Mass market electricity sales fell to 226 gigawatt hours (GWh) in November from 248 GWh in the same period in the previous year.

Retail gas sales rose to 93 GWh from 42 GWh. Wholesale contracted electricity sales increased to 845 GWh from 733 GWh in the prior-year period.

Wholesale electricity sales to customer businesses fell to 237 GWh from 274 GWh, while sales to commercial and industrial customers were up to 170 GWh from 138 GWh.

Wholesale spot electricity sales also rose to 889 GWh from 741 GWh.
