Virgin Galactic Holdings (SPCE) said Monday it entered a collaboration with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory to assess using the lab's sensor systems on Virgin Galactic launch vehicles to support high-altitude image capture development.
The work will evaluate whether the sensor systems could be used on future flights to collect data for next-generation imaging capabilities, the company said.
Virgin Galactic shares were 2.8% higher in premarket trading.
