Canadian Telcos Seen Keeping Prices Steady Through Boxing Week -- Market Talk

Dow Jones12-13

1406 ET - Canadian telcos should keep their pricing discipline through the historical discount period of Boxing Week, says TD Cowen's Vince Valentini. In a report, the analyst says Canadian wireless pricing trends show discount banners adopting more constructive models, with introductory plans at 50GB for C$50, which he says are still stronger than Black Friday lows. Fighter brands continue to push aggressive offers, with Fizz joining this tier. Meanwhile, Rogers, Bell, and Telus remain steady at higher price points for higher data, signaling stability at the premium end. Freedom has modestly boosted data but kept prices steady. "We remain cautiously optimistic that this price line can be held through Boxing Week and that Freedom's introductory price could be increased marginally in the new year," he says.
