Broadcom Investors Were Primed to Sell Shares -- Market Talk

Dow Jones12-13 01:09

1209 ET - Broadcom investors were already prepared to sell shares when the chipmaker reported earnings Thursday, Benchmark analyst Cody Acree says. Shares are down 11% on Friday. The stock has more than doubled over the past 12 months, setting investors up to want to take profit, almost regardless of the strength of the financial report, Acree says. Acree says there was a lot for investors to like about the report: Broadcom said it had $21 billion in orders from Anthropic over the past two quarters and its six-quarter AI order backlog has grown to $73 billion.
