On Semiconductor has agreed to work with GlobalFoundries to develop and manufacture advanced gallium nitride power products.

The Scottsdale, Ariz., semiconductor maker will pair its silicon drivers, controllers and thermally enhanced packages with GlobalFoundries' gallium nitride technology platform, it said Thursday.

The partnership is meant to help On Semiconductor expand its portfolio and meet growing power demands for AI data centers, electric vehicles, renewable energy and the industrial and defense sectors.

ON Semiconductor will now have a full spectrum of gallium nitride technology in its portfolio, ranging from low- to ultra-high voltage.

The company will start providing samples to customers in the first half of 2026, it said.
