Southern's Georgia Power Wins Approval to Add 9,900 MW of New Generation Capacity

Southern (SO) subsidiary Georgia Power received approval from the Georgia Public Service Commission to add about 9,900 megawatts of new generation resources to meet rising electricity demand across the state.

Under the approved agreement, typical residential customers may see annual savings of $102, driven by incremental revenue from large-load customers, Georgia Power said Friday in a statement.
