Nike 2Q Results Fail to Convince Investors of Recovery -- Market Talk
Dow Jones12-19 07:37
1837 ET - Nike's second-quarter results are far from convincing that its turnaround is working, eToro analyst Farhan Badami says. While sales rose about 1%, profit and margins fell reflecting higher markdowns and continuing channel mix shifts, Badami says. Recovery appears to be happening in pockets, as China sales are still soft and key categories such as basketball and sportswear have yet to show consistent improvement, he says. "Results underline how much work is still ahead," Badami says. Shares fall 10% after the bell. (katherine.hamilton@wsj.com)
