NEW YORK, Dec 17 (Reuters) - Over 580,000 homes and businesses remained without power in the U.S. Pacific Northwest on Wednesday following severe storms overnight, according to data from PowerOutage.us.
The hardest-hit utilities included Puget Sound Energy in Washington State with around 141,800 of its 1.29 million customers out and Portland General Electric POR.N in Oregon with around 112,300 of 445,700 customers out, according to PowerOutage.us.
On its website, Puget Sound Energy told customers last night that it was prepared for another stormy night with heavy rain, strong winds and colder temperatures.
