Hut 8 is partnering with Anthropic and Fluidstack to build a large artificial-intelligence data center in Louisiana, where it will develop and deliver large amounts of power to run the facilities.
As part of the partnership, the energy-infrastructure platform in collaboration with cloud computing company Fluidstack will provide an initial 245 megawatts of energy to the facility and supported by 330 megwatts of utility capacity, with the partnership to launch from its River Bend campus in Louisiana, the Miami-based company said Wednesday.
Anthropic, an AI company best known for creating the Claude family of AI chatbots, will receive the first chance to expand at River Bend, Hut 8 said. If more power is added to the site, the company said it could grow its power capacity by up to 1,000 megawatts of computing capacity, which could increase by another 1,050 megawatts if Anthropic chooses.
In total Hut 8, the company could deliver up to 2,295 megawatts of AI data center infrastructure for Anthropic.
