The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) fell 0.8%.
In corporate news, AbCellera Biologics (ABCL) shares gained 5.2%. The company will receive $36 million upfront from Bruker (BRKR) as part of a patent litigation settlement.
Irenic Capital Management has built a stake of more than 3% in Integer (ITGR) and is calling on the company to revamp its board and consider a sale as its shares trade at a discount, The Wall Street Journal reported. Integer shares climbed 5.6%.
Eli Lilly (LLY) will reduce the prices of its diabetes and weight-loss drugs Mounjaro and Zepbound by 20% or more in Canada from Dec. 29, The Globe and Mail reported Thursday, citing a note to pharmacies Wednesday night. Eli Lilly shares rose 1.8%.
Athira Pharma (ATHA) shares surged about 66% after it disclosed Thursday that it agreed to acquire the rights for the development and commercialization of lasofoxifene to treat breast cancer.
