Debt Sustainability Risks Could Emerge in Some European Countries in Medium Term -- Market Talk

0643 GMT - High and rising debt levels, for example in France and Belgium, are raising debt sustainability risks in the medium term, State Street Investment Management says in an outlook. The factors contributing to these increased risks are slow-moving and deeply engrained in the economic and political architecture, it says. This is making them predictive of long-term ratings trends and offering opportunities for alpha generation, it says. A pension overhaul in the Netherlands could also lead to significant allocation changes, generating risks and opportunities, State Street IM says. (emese.bartha@wsj.com)
