Current Vaccine Skepticism An 'Anomaly,' Pfizer CEO Says -- Market Talk

Dow Jones12-17 02:04

1304 ET - The current moment of vaccine skepticism will not last, says Pfizer Chief Executive Albert Bourla in a call with analysts. Vaccines are "the most cost-effective intervention to prevent illness in the world. And that will continue," Bourla says. Negative comments about vaccines from U.S. government agencies are part of a temporary trend. "I think those comments don't have merit, and that will not change the way that we are looking at our long-term investments in vaccines. We will continue investing in vaccines, because as I said, this is an anomaly that will correct itself I hope pretty soon," Bourla says. (nicholas.miller@wsj.com)
